Hope you had a wonderful holiday weekend! Now it's time to get back to work... I had a request for a tag to give a teacher for an end-of-year thank you. I really like the shape of the apple from The Cutting Cafe set All About School.
I printed the apple on red cardstock and then stamped it and distressed it with black ink and white paint. Then I printed the leaf on green and the stem on brown. The circle sentiment is also part of the same set. The little green worm is from a school stamp set from Cornish Heritage Farms.
My friend was delighted with the tag and reported that the teacher loved it, too!

Graduation Cards
Hi! Hope you are all having a wonderful holiday weekend! How about a couple of graduation cards that I forgot to post?
Did you have any graduations to go to this year? We didn't go to any, but did give gifts to a couple of graduates. I've always liked this Congratulations Graduate stamp. I've had it quite awhile. This next card is made with papers from Simple Stories.
I really really like this collection. The papers are so pretty.
Just look at how cute that owl is!
I'd like to take just a moment to thank our veterans and the men and women currently serving our country. What they do (and have done) is to be greatly appreciated. They and their families sacrifice a lot for us. Thank goodness for them all!

Love/Remembrance at Craft Us Crazy
There's a new challenge up at Craft Us Crazy - it's Love and/or Remembrance.
I made a box for my mom based on one of her fond memories from childhood - making hollyhock dolls with her aunt. The papers are The Girls Paperie and Melissa Frances. Here is a picture of a hollyhock doll from Cat's Craftivity Corner.
Inside the box it says:
The poem is a part of the postcard that's on the top of the box.
The sponsor for this week at Craft Us Crazy is The Stamp Fairy.
The prize is a $9.00 gift certificate to the store!
I have been trying to comment on several blogs and have not been able. It gets in some kind of loop after I write the post and then it asks me to sign in to google and then it just keeps asking me to sign in over and over. I googled the problem and apparently I'm not the only one this is happening to, but it is frustrating! I hope they get it fixed soon!
Be sure to check out Craft Us Crazy for all the details on the latest challenge and all the wonderful projects by the DT.

We made when our birthdays were few?
As memories grow with the years fleeting fast
My love grows each birthday for you.

Love You
Dropping in, just to show this sweet little girl. I'm keeping one eye on the TV because we're under a tornado warning right now. It's really dark and raining pretty hard - lots of thunder and lightning. I just don't want to go down in the basement unless I absolutely have to.
I love this image. And I love those green mini roses and green heart. Hope you're having much better weather than I am right now! Stay safe...

All About Baby from The Cutting Cafe
Hope everyone's had a great weekend! Lauren and Paul were here this weekend, so mine was wonderful! We went to the OKC Zoo to see the baby elephant, Maylee. Oh, is she a cutie! We hadn't been to the zoo in years, so it was great fun to see all the changes.
This is a little card on which I used the buggy from the All About Babies set from The Cutting Cafe. I changed the buggy to brown and printed it on cream cardstock and on decorative paper. I love this set. I've used it several times before, but hadn't used the buggy yet.
The papers are all K & Co. I love the pretty greens and the patterns in these papers. The star tag is a die and stamp from Papertrey Ink.
I got my package from June! It had been ripped during mailing, so I feel so lucky that it arrived!
Oh, my there are a lot of goodies!
Her trinket pins are gorgeous! Love all the tags, ribbon, and embossed bags. Thank you so much June! It's all fabulous! Here's wishing everyone a wonderful week!

Wedding Cards and Thank You to June
A couple of weeks ago, Kirby's (one of the guys I work with) son got married. I created a couple of cards, because my mom needed one too.
My mom had my job for about 30 years and then I took the position about 2 1/2 years ago when she was ready to retire. So, we both know Kirby and his family.
The wedding colors were black and pink, so I tried to incorporate those two colors. The "Songs of Love" piece is digital from Petticoat Junction.
The banner is made with dies and stamps from Papertrey Ink.
Some exciting news: I won the giveway at Lina Beas! I was so surprised and excited. I'll share a picture of the goodies when they arrive. Thanks so much, June! And I can't wait for tomorrow - my daughter is coming!

For Mom
I've noticed that my mom is reading quite a bit more now that she's got time. Reading has always been a "have to do" for me. I'm not happy if I don't read. I started reading at breakfast when I was quite small and there Mom would be at the table - together we would be, but not talking. My mom was smart and realized that I needed that time. I know sometimes she thinks I probably came from aliens (she's neat, I'm messy and that's just one way we're different), but she's always supporting and loving. She's a great mom and a perfect grandma - love you, Mom!
I found this fun heart brooch at an antique store and turned it into a bookmark for my mom. For fun gift wrap, I made a pocket from library cards.
The library cards are wrapped with a doily then I just added some ephemera, doily stamp, button, and ribbon.
I like how the ribbon peeks out of the pocket. Hope you're having a great week. So glad you stopped by!

Cupcake Inspiration at The Cutting Cafe
This month's inspiration theme at The Cutting Cafe is cupcakes. Regina has lots of cutie cupcake digi stamps to choose from. I used images from All About Cupcakes and Hey Cupcake Frame Set on my card. I've been wanting to make a pincushion for awhile (why not a cupcake?)! I decided to make a pincushion and card that somewhat match.
I changed the color on the frame to green and printed the cupcake on patterned paper (without the flower).
For the pincushion I used three cupcake liners so it would be sturdy and lined them with scalloped felt (cut with a Papertrey Ink die).
The cupcake part is made with pink fleece that I sprayed with some Tattered Angels just to give it some depth.
The top of the pincushion and the card cupcake match with their ribbon roses and green and white dyed seam binding ribbon. The Cutting Cafe Monthly Inspiration will up Monday, May 16th - be sure to go take a look!
ETA: You can win any 3 sets by leaving a comment at The Cutting Cafe. Winner will be chosen by random drawing. Also there's a BUY ONE GET ONE FREE of equal or lesser value on ALL of the sets offered from now until Wednesday, May 18th at midnight (PST).

Something New at Craft Us Crazy!
A new theme goes up today at Craft Us Crazy: Something New/Favorite Embellishment!
We have two sponsors for this challenge. One is Digital Delights. The prize is 3 digital images!
About Digitial Delights: Welcome to Digital Delights, a magical place filled with little digi creations from all walks of life. We have a wide range of digital stamps which are delivered straight to your email 24/7! In addition we also have a growing range of "Delightful Piecings" which are paper pieced files designed to be used with your cutting machines or for hand cutting. Fancy a new blog makeover, header or new watermark, then stop by our sister site Delightful Custom blogs.
Our second sponsor is The Pixie Cottage. The prize is a $10 certificate!
There are several new things on my card. The silhouette itself is new (from Made by Janet). I just got the Spellbinders die behind her and the Tattered Angels stencil I used for the background shape is also new. Of course, some of my favorite embellishments are on here, too: button, seam binding ribbon, twine. The papers are all from Glitz Design and the little tag is a die from Papertrey Ink. There is also something OLD on this card and that's the crocheted flower. I came across six of these when I cleaned out by jewelry cabinet. They are actually button covers from a dress I had in the 80's! I just removed them from the button cover and voila! - a pretty embellishment! Be sure to check out Craft Us Crazy for more inspiration and for all the details on this challenge and the prizes!

Birthday Cake from The Cutting Cafe
This image is part of Birthday Fun at The Cutting Cafe. It has 63 images! I used it to create a decorated pillowbox. I just used Copics to add a bit of color (love the brightness of the yellow-orange-pink combo) to the birthday cake and added some pretty papers. Oh, and those fun buttons, too! Easy, peasy and cute-as-can-be! Now, I have to decide what to put inside! Check out The Cutting Cafe for more wonderful digital stamps!

Have your cake...
Hope everyone's having a wonderful Mother's Day! I have some pictures to post for the things I made for my mom, but I'm not going to be able to give them to her until tomorrow. Hi, Mom! I had a surprise package from Amazon a couple of days ago. I order books all the time, so I really didn't think it was a surprise. When I opened the box however, there was a very pretty tin of English Breakfast Tea! I immediately said to Dennis, " But, I didn't order any tea!" Then, I looked at the little slip of paper which said Happy Mother's Day from Lauren and Paul. How fun is that - I love surprises!
Lauren loves old cookbooks and pamphlets. I found a Bakers Chocolate pamphlet in great condition. I scanned some of the pages to use on future projects. I finally remembered that I had the scans.
The challenge at Moving Along With the Times is CAKE! So, I used a page from the pamphlet along with the picture of the great chocolate layer cake. Here's the inside:
I also really like the blue discs that I picked up at Joann's sometime in the past. They match this paper perfectly! Have a great week!
