A heartfelt thanks to all of you who stop by and visit! I appreciate all your sweet comments and emails! I'm off work today...cooking, cleaning, and finishing projects for my party on Sunday. It's so fun to have old friends, new friends, and soon-to-be friends over for treats and showing my new creations...a heartfelt thanks to all of you, too!
The pretty heart on this card is made with the Love Struck Cricut cartridge. I couldn't wait to use it...it's so pretty! I found the lace at a wonderful antique store in Wichita when we were visiting Lauren. Hope you have a fabulous weekend!

Hedgehog Sweeties
Aren't these little guys cute? I've been trying to make an effort to use more of my stamps - I have some wonderful ones that are just sitting there! Of course, time is a problem. Hard to get around to putting all the ideas in my head into an actual project!
This cute heart was part of a package I picked up at Michaels.
Hedgehogs are so cute. My son-in-law had them as pets growing up and we had them in the science room at Cleveland Elementary. My first introduction to hedgehogs was through the children's author, Jan Brett. Her little Hedgie is the sweetest!

Love Box
Hi! It's getting closer to Valentine's Day. I love all the sweet cherubs, heart doilies and ribbon that are a part of Valentine creations. I remember how fun it was to take a shoebox to school and decorate it. This is a little gift box that could be filled with all kinds of goodies. I'm thinking chocolates or jewelry, of course!
I got these cool glass domes from Kristen Krafts on Etsy. So easy to create magnets or decorations - just select an image and attach to the glass with Diamond Glaze.

January Sketch Challenge at Pixie
Kirsty has come up with a great sketch again!
All the details for the challenge are on the Pixie Dust Paperie blog. For my take on the sketch, I turned it 90 degrees and made the bracket the bottom.
Love that sweet kitty! I have a kitty boy of my own and I find that I am more drawn to kitty pictures since he adopted us. I pretty much like him - a lot!

Candy Cone
I've been wanting to make a candy cone ever since our trip to Paris and I saw some in a shop window.
I decorated this one with a Godey's Fashion plate. Isn't she pretty?
It will be easy to add a little tag to the top...it could say "Mom" or "Friend" or someone's name.
I wanted to add a little more red, kind of connect the top to the bottom, so I added a little red chandelier drop.
Now, do you know of any fancy wrapped candies that would be perfect for the inside? I may have to do some looking...

You Hold the Key for Pixie
Love the set of keys and lock openings that come with the January kit, My Funky Valentine, from Pixie Dust Paperie.
This paper from My Minds Eye is gorgeous. I also used some more of the diecuts that come in the kit...look at the pretty heart that I put on the inside:
The brown ribbon is lush and is already somewhat gathered, so it was very easy to gather it some more.
Don't forget the giveaway on the Pixie Dust Blog! You have until January 19th to enter.

I'm not Lion!
This little guy was tucked away in a box with lots of other cards at one of my local antique stores. He is so cute...love that corny saying, too! He's accented with a vintage black button and felt, die cut with one of Papertrey Ink's border dies. The felt is from Papertrey Ink, too. And I do have to say it cuts way better than the usual stuff from a craft store!
That's some older Jenni Bowlin paper in the background and journal cards from Elle's Studio and Maya Road. My idea was to keep it a little less frilly, so that it could be for a little guy (or a big guy,for that matter). Can't believe it's already close to Valentine's Day. Where does the time go?
Don't forget there's a giveaway going on over at the Pixie Dust Paperie blog!

Hummingbird Love and a Pixie Giveaway!
Hummingbirds are amazing! My mom and dad have a hummingbird feeder outside the dining room window and I'm always thrilled when I get to see one. The January Pixie kit is full of wonderful diecuts - the hummingbird is just one! And the diecuts are all double-sided, so you get double the choices! How cool is that? The kit also has several sheets of music, which I love.
The hummingbird and heart are displayed on the accounting paper frame, which is really cool, because I have to make a long chart at work and I've been keeping my scraps of the same paper to use on something later. You can also see the pretty cursive letters included in the kit.
Here's some exciting news - an AMAZING GIVEAWAY from Pixie Dust! Here's a picture:
It includes 6 decorative papers, image stickers from Websters Pages, Prima Alphabends and Flowers, and that absolutely darling CUTE banner! And don't forget the crinkle ribbon, a total of 6 yards! WOW! Can you believe that you can win all of that?
I'm also giving a cute little card created with things from an earlier Pixie kit.
Get all the details at the Pixie Dust Paperie Blog. Good luck!

Pink, Brown, and Mint Green
I love the colors in this sweet card.
The papers are all from the January Pixie Dust kit, My Funky Valentine. The pretty seam binding ribbon and little dusty blue rose finish it off quite nicely.
Hope you've been checking out the Pixie blog for all the inspiration and giveaway that's going on at Kirsty's blog.

Great Grandparents Marriage Certificate
I had a special request for a wedding card for Saturday. She told me that both the bride and the groom work for the Oklahoma Historical Society, so...of course, vintage is perfect! I looked through several images I've collected, but then I remembered my great grandparents marriage certificate from 1918.
It's tattered and the upper left corner is completely torn off. I wasn't sure how it would scan, but I think it's so beautiful I just had to try! The scan turned out quite lovely.
Put it on some pretty Graphics 45 paper with scrunched seam binding and a vintage button. Here's wishing the happy couple great joy!

Tags for Pixie Dust
The January kit from Pixie Dust, My Funky Valentine, is full of little details that make it easy to create the layering on these tags.
Little birds, hearts, wings... A whole page of stickers from October Afternoon and pretty rose ribbon.
Check out the blog for inspiration - right now we're in preview days with the full kit reveal on January 5th. Pixie Lauren did a great job putting this kit together!

Something New!
Something New is the theme at Paper Issues this month. This is a new set of cards that I designed for my mom.
Actually, I took a 'something old' idea and made it new. If these look somewhat familiar, it's because I scraplifted myself! I made a birthday calendar awhile back which I gave to my mom and made the cards to match it.
I love silhouettes, so I adore these stamps. They're small - just perfect for the vintage postcard!
The cards were cut with my Cricut - such a pretty shape. Kind of fun to make something old into something new!
I also just got some exciting news that I should be able to share in the next couple of days...stay tuned!
