A Spot of Tea?

I have a cup of tea almost every afternoon when I get home from work - even in the summer. I don't seem to get tired of it, but am surprised that I still want it when the heat sets in. I just love sitting in the big chair in our library, reading and petting Kitty while drinking a cup of tea. So, this card is absolutely perfect for me! The paper is from October Afternoon and the stamps are from Papertrey Ink.

Hope you've had a great weekend. We went to Wichita to visit Lauren and Paul. It was so fun to be with her...went to the great antique stores in Wichita and just visited. Hope you've had a nice Memorial weekend and a big thank you to everyone in the armed forces.

Teapot Lady

Hi! Are you having a good week? Are you ready for the three day weekend? I'm ready...we get to see Lauren! Okay, I know this image is a little different, but I absolutely love it!
I printed the Teapot Lady on my cardstock and then simply decorated the bottom with polka dots, stripes and teal ribbon.
I'm really happy with the finished card. Isn't she fun? Have a good rest of your week...

Good Things Come in Small Packages

Hi! Hope everyone is safe and sound this weekend. The last thing Kirby said to me as I left work on Friday was "I hope this weekend is better for you than last weekend!" And it has been...except when I had to pull in Edna's Bar on my way home due to a flat tire. While I was waiting for Dennis to come rescue me, I called Kirby and told him that I thought he had jinxed me!

Here are closeups of the Strawberry boxes I made. I love them!

I used a template found here. I changed how they are closed. I pulled a length of folded green ribbon through the leaves and then tied around the green ribbon with twine. Otherwise, they are really hard to get into! I think they'd be wonderful with a little jewelry or chocolate added.

And this is the cute little package that contained a good thing.

Debbie and I put together a great giveaway. She put some gorgeous earrings in my sweet little box, which was given away at our party at Sparkles.

This is another take on a small package. I used a pattern from The Cutting Cafe to create this little duck. I made it like an old fashioned pull toy. I braided yellow fiber and put a big wooden bead on the end for the pull part (of which I did not get a good picture). In between the duck bodies is a little yellow box that contains this little baby book...all ready for someone's sweet baby pictures.
Wouldn't this make a darling nursery decoration?

What a weekend!

Wow! A lot happened this last weekend. We had a great party at Sparkles on Friday evening. It was wonderful to see old friends and make new ones. Then we got a Trojan on our computer and I spent hours on Saturday trying to get rid of it. Turns out that no one (not McAfee, not Spyware Doctor) can get rid of it. Luckily, my mom and dad had just given us a new computer, so Daddy and I set up the new one. Then the hail hit on Sunday... it was amazing! It broke out several windows in our house and got Dennis's car. I felt so helpless just standing there watching the hail break the windows and fall into the library. It was like someone was throwing baseball's through our windows! We were lucky, though, didn't get it near as bad as some people northwest of us. Here are some of the pictures I said I'd post after the party.

Strawberry card template is from The Cutting Cafe.
This one says, "You are the apple of my eye!" inside.

Later, I'll post some more pictures of things I had at the party.

Sneak Peeks

How about a couple of sneak peeks of things I've made for Friday's party? (I'll post full pictures this weekend.) I've got a strawberry theme going...strawberry shaped card, vintage strawberry ads, pretty strawberry paper, and the cutest strawberry gift box you've ever seen!

I bought strawberries today for Dennis and I to make chocolate dipped strawberries for the party. I've got lots of other goodies too... the cutest ever duck that looks like a pull toy, eiffel tower, birdhouses, new soldered charm jewelry ... I hope to see you at Sparkles!

Happy Mother's Day!

Hope everyone's having a wonderful Mother's Day. Yesterday, Linda (Lauren's mother-in-law) treated Mom and I to high tea at A Spot of Tea. The food and conversation were wonderful! I made my mom a soldered bookmark for her Mother's Day gift.
I love the silhouette of the lady reading a book. It has Mom's initial on the back (which I forgot to photograph). Then I packed it in this darling birdhouse gift box, which I actually think I posted awhile back. I love that I get to see my mom (and Daddy, too) a lot more now. We try to have lunch at least once a week since they've retired. I didn't know that would be one of the perks with them retired and me changing jobs!

Here are a couple of Mother's Day cards I made for this year.

Happy Mother's Day! I love you, Mom!

Graduation Cards

Papertrey Ink's new graduation stamp set is really great! I used it to create a boy and a girl graduation card. You can also see some of that crinkle ribbon...it is so fun! I love how it looks.
Couldn't use it on the boy version though...

I'm happy with the star on this one.

I don't know anyone graduating this year, so I made up a couple of sets of these and took them to Mockingbird Manor and Sparkles. Do you have anyone graduating this year?

Happy

Hi! Just a quick post showing another card I created for Lauren's birthday. I love how the banner turned out. I just stamped the invdividual letters and cut the little banner pieces with my scissors, then strung them on the twine. The flowers are made from an old crepe paper roll.
Thanks for stopping by. Have a happy week!
